Congratulations President Mahama for granting Africans from America and Caribbeans Ghanaian citizenship
Indeed, today December 28, 2016 will be forever remembered as the day the Joseph Project initiated by the visionary Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey came to fruition with the granting of citizenship to 35 of our brothers and sisters. Although the number may seem small, it is indeed a symbolic gesture that should be reciprocated continentally by all other African states.
Once again Ghana, the first African state south of the Sahara has shown the way

As President John Dramani Mahama in his modest way said, this is not a favor being done them but their inalienable right as people who were forcibly taken from these shores. It's no coincidence that with the highest number of European forts and castles outside European, we should acknowledge our role as the gateway to Africa.
Let us welcome our kindred who have acquired knowledge and skills to join in our nation building. Imagine tens of thousands of our folks returning with skills, technology and knowledge. That would be a tremendous injection into our economy even as we speak of a knowledge economy. I know you have concerns about some unsavory characters, well as Interior Minister Mr Bani indicated due process would be followed to weed out negative nuts. Indeed, as President Mahama said, we look forward to the day that our brethren from the diaspora will get visa on arrival like our other African brethren have. President John D. I know Osagyefo Dr Nkrumah looked forward to this day when he said our independence is meaningless unless it's linked with the total liberation of the African continent.
President Mahama has lit a torch, I pray President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo takes d mantle and grants the visa on arrival. President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo, President Mahama by this singular act has graduated into the realms of international statesmanship and a stellar position in the pantheon of Pan African Heroes and Heroines.

I know you are destined for greatness, please by the end of your first term, please grant our diasporans visa on arrival and catapult thyself into that iconic position reserved for you in the realm of our Pan African leaders.
I also have to celebrate my teacher at St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Ambassador Kwesi Quartey, Secretary to the President for his crucial role in accomplishing this significant feat.

Finally to Ambassador Erika Bennett, Dr Hamet Maulana and all the folks who made it possible. Today, I feel proud as a Ghanaian among my Pan African brethren, for we have walked the talk!!!
And thanks President Mahama for the autographed program you gave me. I will forever cherish it as a souvenir of this historic occasion.
As Haile Selassie said, Africa awaits it's creators and creation.
